The Nursery at Mowden is situated in a beautiful purpose built suite within the Pre-Prep building. The space leads directly onto the outdoor classroom and is surrounded by nature.

Mowden Hall School and Nursery offers nursery places for children aged 2 and above. Children may join Mowden at staggered points during the year, with their education individually tailored to their stage of development. Their journey begins in The Nest, where 2 year olds thrive in Mowden's exceptional Early Years provision, where a nurturing school environment, rich curriculum and outstanding pastoral care lay the foundations for confident, happy and successful learners. 

Children then move across the playground into Treetops aged 3, where the emphasis is on learning through play where reading, writing and number skills are developed through playful, appropriately targeted activities. The aim is to develop the child’s motor, intellectual, creative, social and language skills in the warm family atmosphere, which is one of the strengths of Mowden. 

Our Nursery children have the opportunity to learn French, participate in swimming lessons and benefit from Physical Education and music, weekly woodland classroom sessions all taught by specialist staff who understand the importance of instilling a love for learning and curiosity at this young age.

Children who join us in the nursery move up to Reception at the start of the academic year in which they turn five. The environment and experience of the Nursery at Mowden Hall School prepares children to progress seamlessly through the rest of the school.
