Safeguarding

The fundamental right to be protected from harm is an essential part of our pastoral responsibility.

That safeguarding responsibility necessitates our having a clear child protection policy and procedures, and means that we may also need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. As individuals working with children we all have a care of duty to safeguard and protect.

Our objectives are:

• To identify children who are suffering from or are likely to suffer significant harm, and take appropriate action to make sure they are safe to provide a safe environment for children
• To provide a safe environment for children to learn
• To help children to understand the nature of abuse and who may abuse
• To provide them with knowledge, develop their confidence to report abuse and building positive personal, social and emotional skills
• To learn to help children to understand the nature of abuse and who may abuse to provide them with knowledge, develop their confidence to report abuse and building positive personal, social and emotional skills
