Mowden Hall School is excited to announce the launch of Boarding Reimagined, a new flexi and weekly boarding package available from Summer Term 2026.
Thoughtfully developed in response to parent feedback and the evolving needs of family life, the new structure offers greater flexibility while preserving the exceptional pastoral care and close-knit community for which Mowden is renowned.
The new model builds on this strong foundation, creating four clear and accessible pathways: Introductory, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The Introductory package provides a gentle one-night-a-week starting point for younger pupils (Years 3–5), while Bronze, Silver, and Gold offer progressively greater immersion in boarding life, with additional “flexi-extra” nights included in each tier. The Gold package continues to deliver the fullest experience, including all Big Boarding weekends.
This carefully considered evolution ensures that families can choose a level of boarding that fits naturally alongside busy routines, co-curricular commitments and family time, particularly preserving weekends at home.
Phil Sturt, Head of Mowden Hall School, said: “Boarding has always been at the heart of Mowden Hall School. It is where friendships deepen, confidence grows, and children experience a sense of belonging that lasts well beyond their prep school years.
“This is an exciting evolution of our provision. It has been thoughtfully designed to make our outstanding boarding experience more flexible, inclusive and accessible, while fully preserving the exceptional pastoral care and sense of community that define Mowden.”
“Boarding is a significant strength at Mowden. Quite simply, we know how beneficial it is for children, and we want more pupils to have the opportunity to be part of it.”
The launch follows the School’s most recent ISI Inspection (November 2025), in which boarding was identified as a “significant strength”, which is a rare distinction awarded to only around 10% of inspected schools.

We very much hope you will want to discuss how your child can benefit from boarding, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to arrange a meeting or visit to the boarding house.
